Sustainable Seaside

Description: Sustainable Seaside
The Mondays meeting are on the third or fourth Monday

Our Mission:
To make the City of Seaside a model of sustainability through innovative local actions which work to enhance our community. Sustainability means “meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.” (UN Conference, 1987)

We meet the third or fourth Monday of each month at 6:30pm at the Peace Resource Center, 1364 Fremont Blvd., for a presentation and discussion. Out of our meetings we develop our areas of interest (based on the Mayor’s Agreement and the UN Climate Control Accords) and our actions. We hope to grow our group and always welcome new members.

Our current action areas are:

Water: learning how water works in Seaside and providing information about the California Water Project Environmental Impact Report
Energy: Sustainable Seaside Restaurant/Business Project
Parks: working jointly with Durant-Farallones Neighborhood Association, Seaside Green Team, and Volunteers Improving Our Parks
