| Description: | What? Every 3rd Sunday (since January 2003!) we assemble volunteers to help restore coastal habitats by removing invasive plants such as Cape ivy from one of Monterey County's most beautiful coastal locations. Easy or difficult tasks depending on your mood. Where? The project site is 7 miles south of Hwy 1 but we meet at the Rio Rd. Park n Ride next to the Black Bear Diner across from the Chevron gas station. Then we carpool 7 miles south of Carmel River in consideration of everyone's needs and schedules. Why? Lot's of fun and ocean spray at a stunningly beautiful location. Its also a fulfilling project and you'll learn alot while contributing to the cause of helping our beautiful wild lands! How? Bring water, wear gardening type, layered clothing, closed-toed and sturdy, shoes, and wear long-sleeves and pants. Healthy and delicious snacks are provided. You'll love it!! Who? Join California Native Plant Society and Chuck Haugen Conservation Fund volunteers who know and care a lot about this beautiful area!
